Boussad Siamer
Systems & Software Builder · Mohammadia, Algiers
Background & Aspirations
Born in 2007 in Mohammadia, Algiers, Algeria, I am an enthusiastic systems builder who enjoys digging into how software interacts with hardware and operating system layers. I attended School Ethaalibiya in Algiers Centre, and I am currently dedicated to preparing for the Algerian Baccalauréat (BAC) exam. Earning strong marks on this milestone is my primary focus, as it represents the gateway to pursuing international higher education in computer science and software engineering.
Alongside my academic preparations, I actively participate in open online education through the University of Helsinki Open Courses, where I study cybersecurity fundamentals (Cyber Security Base) and structured programming.
Engineering Approach
I gravitate toward problems that require connecting disparate layers of the computing stack. Rather than staying confined strictly to high-level abstractions, I like understanding the exact wire formats, communication buses, and protocols that make things work.
My core development revolves around Go for robust desktop utilities and backend services, C++ and Arduino for microcontroller firmware, and TypeScript for serverless edge workers on Cloudflare. Whether dealing with SPI timing constraints on an ESP32 or structuring concurrency in a Go web spider, the goal is always clarity, responsiveness, and reliability.
Featured Projects
Biometric eID Kiosk & ESP32 Bridge: A complete hardware-software integration that connects a Go desktop application (Fyne) over USB serial to an ESP32-S3 microcontroller. The microcontroller acts as a transparent serial-to-SPI bridge to a PN532 NFC reader, executing ICAO 9303 PACE and BAC cryptographic key agreements to extract biometric passport and national ID records into an automated hotel police registry.
Modular Search Engine & Web Spider: A ground-up information retrieval system in Go featuring an SQLite inverted index, polite crawler with robots.txt enforcement, BM25 text relevance ranking, and a SciPy PageRank graph analysis engine.
Edge Services: Serverless workers and document APIs built on Cloudflare Workers, pairing TypeScript with Cloudflare R2 object storage for instant edge delivery.
